1 · Keep vials separated
Reconstitute and label one vial at a time. Pooling compounds in a single container makes results untraceable to a batch.
2 · Equilibrate before opening
Let the sealed vial reach room temperature before breaking the seal. Opening a cold vial draws in moisture, and lyophilised peptide is hygroscopic.
3 · Add diluent down the wall
Direct the diluent slowly against the inside wall of the vial rather than onto the powder cake. A fast stream shears the peptide and lowers recovery.
4 · Dissolve, never shake
Swirl or roll gently until the cake is fully dissolved. Vortexing or shaking foams the solution and denatures peptide at the air–liquid interface.
5 · Inspect the solution
A correctly reconstituted stock is clear and free of visible particulate. Cloudiness, fibres, or a film indicates the stock should be discarded.
6 · Aliquot for single use
Split the stock into single-use aliquots in low-bind tubes and label each with compound, concentration, LOT and date. Repeated freeze–thaw is the most common cause of lost potency.
7 · Record each LOT separately
Every vial in the stack carries its own LOT and its own Certificate of Analysis. Log all of them.
